LIVIN' FOR ETERNITY

The revelation 
Of Revelation 
Woke me up
One day……
And knocked 
upon my door.

Happy slumbers 
Sleeping walking 
Was I
Through the purposeful opportunities of life
That God put before me.

Wow, living for Eternity
Is longer than 
living for the weekend.
It real hits ya 
When you figure that out.

Longer 
Than I 
Could possibly
See afar as
I sat on the edge of my bed shook awake
as my feet hung over the end of the universe.

Forever……. 
Is such is a long long time.

Why didn’t I get it before 
That things really do matter
To someone or in someway?
Ceremoniously un-serious
Usual thoughts I had 
As if… 
We live eternally in the now in this world
Without an expiration date.

Now I found myself
Eternity uncertain in that moment
As I sat scratching my head confused

living for the weekend.

When you figure that out.

I always thought that
Whatever might happen
In a given day,
In this life or moment,
Are consequences that
Melt, roll and fall away
With the previous day.

We all come into this world
And end up getting ourselves 
together and sorted out
On the way out of this world
The way out time 
Of leaving the now 
For the eternal time of beyond.

Youth always have time to kill,
and the old ones watch seconds tick by
on a watch dial out of control.

We are not living in La-La land
Or make believing fairy tales
Of Winkin’ and Blinkin’ and Nod.
