MY BROKEN SOUL UNBROKEN
MY BROKEN SOUL UNBROKEN
MY BROKEN SOUL UNBROKEN
Such a thirsty search
In younger times,
Trying and testing
All the 'isms
I could find.
New age to old age alchemists
These things I did explored.
Lusting for secret agendas,
And world religions,
For all of them I sought;
For the answer to the truth.
In vain
The fight
I found
I fought.
But the darkest day
Was the day I said
there is no God above,
so from that choice of mine
He granted this request.
Utter days of darkness
Loneliest were my fears,
Beyond my wild wild dreams.
Where no one heard my tears.
So now my soul
My soul it broke,
It broke shuttering and shattered
On the floor of this world
The core
Of my soul
Lay
In a billion pieces.
In quicksand,
I was swimming
With no hand in sight.
I ran quickly,
Quick
So quickly
To ask God to
Please
Take me
Under His Wing Almighty.
And The Love
And The Light
Of His Presence
Filled my life anew.
A broken soul alive again,
Thru a power not my own.
A Power Alive outside myself.
Not the generic higher power,
That everyone goes on about,
But The One True God.
You can say it's just my worldview,
And relatively not your own.
But when you feel it
You can't deny
His Presence
His Presence
As Real
As you would ever consider
Your life ever could be.
I always wondered how you could unbreak
Something that was permanently broken.
My broken soul alive again,
Mended by The Holy One who could.
Not myself,
Not an ‘ism or schism,
But The One higher
Than
Any of the gods
Or powers
Or idols that be
That humanity places as cures
For broken souls like me.
A broken soul alive again.
Thru a power not my own
A Power Alive outside myself.
And not the generic higher power,
That everyone goes on about,
But The One True God.
Run quick,
Oh so quick
Run quickly
If you choose,
God’s given freedom
Quick
To ask God
This one great thing,
Please take me
Under Your Almighty Wing;
And The Love
And The Light
Of His Presence
Will fill your life anew.
